McKinley Hill Business District December News

Angela Zold Resigns

 Dear Board Members,

I have been struggling to find a voice for my feelings.  I love this neighborhood and want to see it become more vibrant and successful which is why I have participated in a variety of ways to promote this.   I started stepping away from the DTNA as the group was not as focused on the economic development as I thought it could be, as well as what I was interested in.  A couple of years ago Norma Owens had asked DTNA to be a part of the festival to help promote the same goals and love that we have for our neighborhood.  So I gladly volunteered to help out.  I have been eager to find opportunities to learn new skills in project management and event planning, so this was a great place to learn.  I had a wonderful time and I took notes on how it could be even better the following year, and it was.   It made me happy to see the neighborhood show pride in what we do have and to see visitors sharing in the enthusiasm.   It was a lot of hard work but it was very worth it.

My reluctance to continue my commitment to the MHBD is not soley based on the fate of the festival but also on interactions with other members of the community.

In addition, I feel like any work I agree to do would not be going to the greater good the the business district.   Therefore I am resigning my membership to the business district as well as my position as secretary and board member.  Should the direction of the group change to be a more collaborative environment I would be willing to reconsider my involvement.

Respectfully,
Angela Zold
